The mission of the Interactive and Collaborative Autonomous Robotics (ICAROS) lab is to enable robots to help people with everyday tasks in human environments. We bring together two research thrusts, computational human-robot interaction and automatic scenario generation, to develop theoretical and experimental frameworks that enhance the robustness and effectiveness of human-robot interactions. Our vision points towards a future where deployed robotic systems continuously adapt their actions through simulated and real-world experiences when interacting with users at home and in the workplace.
The ICAROS lab was founded by Professor Stefanos Nikolaidis in 2018. It is part of the Computer Science Department at the University of Southern California.
